Your new house or apartment has beautiful new vinyl replacement windows, and you’re delighted with the energy efficiency and clean view they give: until you attempt to operate them. A completely different animal than old double hung windows, there’s a few tricks to operating vinyl replacement windows that you can master in minutes. Soon you’ll be unlocking, safety locking and tilting in your windows like a pro. Release the master locks on your vinyl replacement window by turning the latches on the top of the lower pane counterclockwise. You’ll hear the lock click as it disengages; your window can now be raised or lowered from the top to let in air. Keep the window open two inches, press both of the triangle buttons, located on the outside top of the bottom pane, inward towards each other and pull the window towards your body.
