How Do You Paint Rustic Wood Furniture?
Rustic furniture has a homemade or earthy look. Rustic furniture is typically found in cabins and country style homes. If you have a piece of rustic furniture that you want to make look more fresh and modern, you can paint it. With a few coats of paint, you can turn your rustic looking furniture into something totally new. Prepare an area that has plenty of ventilation, such as a garage or basement with large windows, by laying down painter’s plastic onto the floor or a large surface counter top (this will depend on the size of the furniture you are painting). Place the furniture onto the plastic. Remove all hardware from furniture and store in a safe place. Fill in any nail holes, cracks or gouges by using wood putty. Most rustic furniture has some distressing, whether by nature or manmade marks to give it a distressed look.
