The Army drug test is a key component of the physical exam you must pass to successfully complete the recruiting process. Testing positive for any type of illegal drugs will negatively impact your chances of being selected as the military branches have adopted a zero-tolerance drug use policy. Urine specimens are observed under strict collection conditions, with standard chain of custody documentation, and shipped to one of the six service-operated laboratories for processing. The labs are equipped to test for marijuana, amphetamines, cocaine, LSD, opiates, barbiturates and PCP. Tests for steroid use are also conducted on request.
