How Do You Perform The Walking Throw Drill For The Discus Throw?
• Line up at the back of the circle facing the opposite direction of the throwing sector • Stand with feet shoulder width apart, toes flared out, knees over toes • Wind the discus back • Pivot the left foot so that the toe is pointing to 90 degrees • Step out with the right foot while staying down on the left knee • Step around with right foot • Step to the middle with the right foot, wrapping the upper body so that the left elbow is over the right knee • Bring the knees together while rotating on the outside of the right foot • Land in a power position with the discus up and back • Turn the right foot, knee and hip into the direction of the throw Let the discus whip through Last edited: July 3, 2010 by Tryme2 Categories: Track and Field Recent edits by: Coachthethrows (see all)
