How Do You Plumb A Booster Pump?
You may need a booster pump for wells and swimming pools when the water pressure is low. Plumbing can mean the difference between your water system working properly or malfunctioning at an inopportune time. Make sure that the booster pump has a dedicated return line. The line must continuously receive flow from the filtration pump. Plumb the dedicated line for the booster pump so that it is upstream all “air inducing equipment.” Install a heater, if needed, but make sure it is downstream from the booster pump. The booster pump should not be installed above the sink pipe from the heater. Keep the booster pump’s inlet far away from the chlorinator when you install it. Use PVC pipe that’s rigid and has at least ¾ of an inch or 1 ½ inch diameter. Flexible pipe is not recommended when you plumb the booster pump, as the movement and expansion that occurs when the booster pump’s pressure surges.
