How Do You Present Effective Teacher Workshops?
Teachers attend workshops throughout the school year, due in part to requirements for professional development and also as a way for teachers to obtain additional training in areas they wish to explore to add to their teaching arsenal. Teachers, however, like the presenters of such workshops, are constantly “on stage” in front of their students, so a person presenting a workshop to educators must be organized, well-spoken, passionate and a master of the topic. Create an introduction that will immediately show how the workshop will benefit the teaching process. Without the immediate “hook” to capture their attention, the teachers may not pay complete attention. Teachers will be looking for a direct way in which the presented materials will positively affect their classrooms. Provide meaningful handouts.
