How Do You Prevent Spreading Oral Herpes?
If you have recently experienced a cold sore outbreak or been diagnosed with oral herpes, welcome to the (massive) club – some statistics estimate that up to 80% of the population in North America has it as well. If this number seems ridiculously high, be aware that the majority of people (twice as many) are asymptomatic. This means that while they are infected with oral herpes, they don’t get sores or other symptoms. If you are among the unlucky who gets outbreaks, however, there are a few things to note to about spreading. First, it would be excessively limiting to avoid kissing or engaging in oral sex when symptoms are not present. It is quite unlikely, though possible, to transmit oral herpes between outbreaks.
