How Do You Print On Plastic Foam Cups?
Plastic foam cups can build up in a landfill because they are not biodegradable, and they are a hard product to recycle. One way to be friendly to the environment is to reuse your plastic foam cups as storage containers or for crafts and other projects. It’s hard to print on foam cups to label them or make designs. Pencils and pens cut through the foam without marking it well, and most markers or paint won’t take to it, but there is a way to make it work. Brush your plastic foam cup with a coating of white craft glue and allow it to dry thoroughly. Use the glue over the entire cup, or just over a square where you would like to print. If you want to color your cup, mix food coloring gel into the craft glue before brushing it on. This will give it a light tint. Use a permanent marker to print on the cup over the dried glue. Avoid pressing into the cup. You can use a fine-tipped marker, but don’t use one with a metal tip as it will scratch the surface of the plastic foam and possibly tear
