To begin using the Philips Digital Universal Remote with an electronic device, you must first program the remote to that device. This can be achieved using the “Code Search” option on the remote. Turn on the device, such as the television or VCR, that you want to control using the remote. Hold down the “Code Search” button located at the top on the remote, to the left of the Volume-down button. Keep holding down this button for about five to seven seconds until the red light on the remote, beneath the DVD button, turns on and remains on. You can then release that button.
