How do you program an RCA Universal remote without a code search button?
• Remove the battery cover on the back of the remote and look for the model number (“RCR412si2912P” for instance). Do a search online for that model number. Hopefully you can bring up a manual from RCA.com, which will contain the codes that work. • If that doesn’t pan out, try this: Go to this website and if you find your remote, click on it and then look at the bottom of the page where it reads “Used with models.” These are model numbers for VCRs that the remote works with or was packaged with. • Press and hold the TV button on the remote. LED will stay “ON”. Don’t let go of the TV button. • Enter the code for your brand of TV into the remote while continuing to hold the TV button down. LED will go out during number entry and turn back on when the last digit is entered. • Release the TV button. LED will flash and go out if number is entered successfully, or flash 4 times if it detects an error. Change the channel to see if this has worked • Turn on the component you want to program. •
