The Phillips Cl034 Universal Remote Control can be used to control such devices as a television set, cable box or VCR player. Before you can use the remote control with any of the electronic device that are inside of your home, you will need to program the remote with the devices. As with other universal remote controls, the Cl034 universal remote comes with the “code search” option. This option allows you to search for the proper codes for your home’s devices. Manually turn on the electronic device (i.e. VCR, television, etc.) that you will eventually be using with the Phillips Universal Remote. Point your remote at the device you turned on. Hold down the “Code “Search” button found on the Phillips Universal Remote for five to seven seconds. The red light on the remote will turn on and then remain on.
