How Do You Propagate Kniphofia Pfitzeri Hybrid Plant Seeds?
Also known as Red Hot Poker, Kniphofia Pfitzeri is a native of Madagascar. The plant develops erect flower spikes that vary in color with bold corals, yellows and pinks being the most common. A perennial hybrid, Kniphofia Pfitzeri produces green grass-like foliage and grows to 36 inches at maturity. Kinphofia Pfitzeri hybrid plants prefer full sun and well-drained soil, within USDA hardiness zones 5 through 8. Seeds propagation begins with a stratification or “chilling” period that prepares the seeds for planting. Fill a small plastic bag with damp peat moss. Drop the Kniphofia Pfitzeri seeds into the plastic bag. Seal the bag and give it a shake to disperse the seeds amongst the peat moss. Place the plastic bag in the refrigerator for six weeks.
