How Do You Protect Your Dogs Paws From Freezing Outside (EASY Homemade Dog Boots)?
After years trial and error and wasting money on dog boots that my dog hates and won’t wear, this is by far the best way I’ve found to protect his tootsies from the freezing Colorado concrete. First you must convince your Fuzzy Face to hold still, and furthermore to accept your tampering with his feet. Bribery always works for me as my dog LOVES peanut butter but never gets any (except when it works to my advantage!) One method I use is to employ an accomplice to dispense the peanut butter while I do the dirty work. The dog almost never notices what I’m doing with his feet when he has a face full of treat. So with Dog Breath distracted, pick a foot and slip a sock on HEEL SIDE DOWN wrap zip tie around his ankle beneath the dew claw and above the foot pad on the front feet (this keeps it nicely in place) being sure to have it snug but NOT uncomfortably tight. If he’s limping or won’t walk, loosen the zip ties. On the back feet there are no dew claws so just try to keep the zip tie low N
