You need a steady hand, patience and a few simple tools to make your pool table look brand new again. Measure your table with the tape measure to ensure that you purchase the right amount of felt. Add 12 inches to both the length and width to leave a little room for error and cut your felt to size. Take a screwdriver or electric drill and remove the rails from the pool table’s edge. Mark the rails with a piece of masking tape to prevent reattaching them on the wrong side of the table. Remove the small strip of metal along the felt called the featherstrip.
