How Do You Put On Irish Dance Shoes (Ghillies) Correctly?

0

Starting Irish dance? I’ve seen so many beginners with their first pair of ghillies at their first dance class and they don’t know how to tie them. This is how. Make sure you wear a nice thick sock with your shoes, irish dancers typically wear poodle socks for irish dancing. Loosen the laces of your shoes wide enough that you can put your entire foot into the shoe with toe at the very tip of shoes. Tighten your laces once you have the shoe on comfortably. You will first tie the laces on the top of foot. Then take laces and tie one time around the ankle. With laces back on top of foot, you will then tie the laces criss crossed under the shoe and come back up to the top of the foot. Here is where you will tie the laces in a normal double knotted loop.
