Recharging your window unit takes a few steps and can be done as many times as needed throughout the warmer months. Remove the air conditioning unit from the window and place on a rag to protect the floor. Remove the screws that hold the back metal casing; once removed; slide the metal casing off. This will reveal the compressor, a metal cylinder with hoses coming off it. Examine the compressor and locate the larger of the two hoses. This hose will be used to recharge the unit.
