Croquet sets evoke the image of leisurely summer days, lawns, lemonade and fun. This is a game where small hoops are pressed into the grass and players knock colored balls with a mallet, trying to bump other player’s balls aside while getting their ball through the hoops. As soon as you start to use a croquet set the finish will deteriorate. Balls get smacked around a lot and it shows. Sometimes it’s necessary to refinish your croquet set so it will be in better shape for the next season of play. Lay plastic sheeting over a foldout table that is positioned in a well-ventilated area, like a garage or outdoors. If you work outdoors make sure the table is not in direct sunlight as this will dry out the stripper too fast. Position the wood pieces of the croquet set on the plastic covered table.
