How Do You Refinish Laminate Kitchen Cabinets?

0

Laminate cabinets can become dull over the years from the accumulation of greases and oils. Using strong cleaners and normal wear and tear will also dull the finish. Laminate cabinets can be painted with proper preparation to make your kitchen bright and look like new. Painting the cabinets is much more cost effective than total replacement or re-facing. Number each cabinet door and drawer for location. Place a corresponding label on the interior of the cabinet to insure doors and drawers are re-installed to the proper location. Remove doors and drawers and place on a flat surface. Remove hinges and drawer pulls. Clean all surfaces of the cabinets, doors and drawers with a solution of TSP and warm water. Rinse the cleaning cloth often and clean until the cloth shows no dirt or grease. Change the cleaning solution and repeat if necessary. Rinse thoroughly with clear water. Allow to dry. Apply epoxy filler to any chips or dings in the laminate. Allow to dry. Sand all surfaces with 220-gr
