How do you register as a Native American to get benefits?

Look, I’m part Native American, but I can’t get benefits. You know why, because I’m so white, no one believes me. And honestly I’m not completely part Indian, it’s more like a small piece of me. Anyway, second I’ve never tried getting those benefits. I perfer not to live off of welfare.

My wife is an American Indian. To receive benefits, you must be a “card carrying” member of your tribe.

You should contact the tribal councel of your tribe of origin. If you are not sure of the tribe of origin, then they will be able to help you with your questions. The other option would be to go on your state’s website and find out how to go about things. I qualify to receive many of the benefits of the other native americans on the reservations here (my grandfather was 100 % native american – makes me 1/4), but I choose not to. Why? There are those that need the benefits more than I do. Why take it from them when I don’t need it? I question your need if you have a computer. . .

I am 100% lakota, you have to get you goodie card is what we call it to get your benefits, that really don’t ammount to crap.the card is just the governments way of keeping track of you just in case there is another uprising.

First off, that’s two questions. And really, neither deserves an answer. The way you phrase your question makes be believe that you are not an Indian and that you are one of those fools who think that after having a hemisphere stolen from them, tribal people are getting some sort of free ride.
