How Do You Remove A Golf Club Grip?
The attendant at your local country club or golf store will be happy to regrip your golf clubs. However, they will charge you handsomely for the effort. Removing the grip and replacing it with a new one is fairly simple and if you have a bit of time, it is certainly worth the effort. Grip the club firmly, holding it with one hand while you work with the other. You can use a vice grip, but be certain to protect the club with a rubber holder so it is not damaged. Use the utility knife to cut through the existing grip, slitting the rubber away from your body. Peel the rubber off the shaft. Remove the old grip tape with a grip-tape scraper. If you do not have a scraper, you can use a small paint scraper, but it will not offer the same maneuverability as the golf utility tool. You want to be careful not to damage the shaft.
