The bumper on a Volkswagen Jetta is held in place with screw bolts. You normally only need to remove the bumper if your bumper is damaged or if you need to access something directly behind the bumper, like the radiator support brackets or the crossmember, and don't want to climb under the vehicle. If you've never removed the bumper before, the procedure may take you about 30 minutes. Step 1 Remove the screw bolts underneath the front bumper that hold the bumper in place. Step 2 Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and remove the screw bolts in both of the front wheel wells that hold the bumper to the fender. Step 3 Pull the bumper off the Jetta. Step 4 Remove the bolts holding the rear bumper to the rear bumper support brackets. Step 5 Pull the rear bumper off.  more
