How Do You Remove A Rear Motorcycle Tire?
Rear motorcycle tires, unlike car tires, can sometimes be quite tricky to remove. However, the tire must be pulled away from the bike for things like replacement, repair and adjustment. So, it is very useful to be able to remove your motorcycle’s rear tire quickly and effectively. Lift the motorcycle onto a solid center stand or a center jack stand. It is important to take all weight off the rear tire. Loosen and remove the lug nut on the end of the tire’s axle. Then remove the square bracer that lines the gap between the lug nut and the swingarm. Use a standard hammer to gently thump the end of the lug bolt, slowly forcing it a small way through the axle shaft. Grip the other end of the lug bolt with an old rag over your hand. This will help you grip more effectively and will keep axle grease off your hands. Pull the lug bolt all the way out of the axle shaft and lie it in a clean, dry place.
