Most window motors for late-model Chevrolet Silverados include the window regulator. With this type of two-channel cable systems, it is difficult to replace the window motor independently. If attempted, special tools will be needed and can possibly cause bodily injury. The gear that the window motor is engaged with tends to unwind and is difficult to position properly to install the motor. There is not a great cost differential in replacing the entire unit, and doing so guarantees that it will work. Remove the two Phillips screws in the armrest. Remove the screws around the circumference of the door. Lift the door panel up to slide the inverted hooks out of the door and pull the panel back a few inches.
