How Do You Remove A Sliding Screen Door?
One of the most common do-it-yourself projects is removing sliding screen door. If the screen has a hole or rip this is a low cost fix. There’s no need to buy an entire new sliding screen door, typically the repair only requires replacement of the screen. Step 1 Loosen the tension screws at the bottom of the sliding screen door. There is a screw at each end of the door that controls one of two wheels in the door. Step 2 Use a screwdriver to turn the screw clockwise. This allows the wheel to loosen up enough to pull the door from the frame. Step 3 Push a flat head screw driver under one of the door wheels, and slowly pry the wheel up and door out of the frame. Use a modest amount of pressure on the wheel. Repeat the same process for the second wheel on the opposite side of the door. Step 4 Stand up, and grasp the door with a hand on each side. Pull the bottom of the door out first, and then angle the top out until it’s free from the frame.
