How Do You Remove Activex Controls?
An ActiveX control works much in the same way as Java applets on a web browser with one big difference: They typically have full access to the Windows operating system. This access allows ActiveX to take advantage of more powerful tools; unfortunately, it also makes them more dangerous to download and can lead to more errors. Removing these ActiveX controls is sometimes necessary and can be accomplished right from the user’s Internet browser. Open your Internet browser application and wait for your homepage to load. Click on the “Tools” link at the top of the page. Choose the “Manage Add-On” and then choose the “Enable or Disable Add-Ons” choice. The “Manage Add-Ons” Windows will appear; in this window, choose “Downloaded ActiveX Controls.” Select the ActiveX control that you want to delete and click on it. Choose the “Delete” button and then click “OK.” Then reset your Internet Explorer browser. Test the areas you were having problems with and see if any errors have now disappeared. O
