Admiral electric dryers have a lint trap that is located in front of the drum, at the bottom of the door opening. Over time lint not caught by the filter can accumulate. The lint is a potential danger if it is not periodically cleaned. To clean the build-up of lint, the lint filter housing must be removed. This task requires about an hour to complete and should be performed at least once a year if the dryer is used daily. Disconnect the dryer’s electrical cord from the outlet in the wall. Insert a putty knife between the top of the dryer and the front panel to release the spring clips on either side. The clips are generally 2 to 3 inches from each side in the front. Lift the top of the dryer and lean it against the wall behind the dryer. Unscrew the screws on either side of the front panel at the top. Pull off the front panel.
