A burn can leave an unsightly mark on hardwood or laminate floors. Fortunately removing one can be a very simple process that won’t take much in the way of time or money. Use a pocket knife to scrape away the burn and see how deep the damage goes. Working with the grain of the wood, use the tip of the knife to scrape away the burned area. Using a brass bristle brush, lightly brush the area. Clean up the area with a dry paintbrush. You can use a razorblade to scrape away any areas that were missed and use the paintbrush again. Apply Tung oil to the spot with a clean cloth to restore the color. Allow to dry and apply more if needed.
