With a little help from your friends, you can walk on your new floor in a matter of days. Put on safety goggles or glasses prior to working on your floor. Begin to remove the ceramic tile. Start by working in a small section near a doorway or opening. Score the grout line with a grout saw. Chisel enough grout to proceed to pry up the tile. Use a putty knife with a stiff handle that is three inches long. Tap the putty knife with a hammer. Some tiles will loosen and are easy to remove, but some will continue to adhere.
