How Do You Remove Chewing Gum From A Clothes Dryer?

0

It is not uncommon for people to leave a piece of gum in the pockets of their clothes. When the clothes get laundered, the gum melts inside the dryer. Removing the gum from the inside of a dryer can be quite difficult. Simply scraping the gum off will leave you with a sticky and stringy mess. Instead, soften the gum first to make the removal process easier. Place three to four old towels inside the dryer. Set the dryer on warm and allow it to run for five minutes to soften the gum. Combine 1 tbsp. of a powder laundry detergent with water. Add enough water to create a thick paste. Apply the paste to a cloth. Scrub the gum from the inside of the dryer with the cloth and paste until the gum is removed. Dampen several washcloths. Toss them into the dryer to make sure all of the gum has been removed. Alternatively, after the chewing gum has softened, rub it with vinegar until the gum is removed.
