You can usually remove contact paper from cabinets simply by pulling it away from the cabinet surface, but if the contact paper has been in place for a long time or was a cheap variety, a bit more effort is necessary. You can buy adhesive removers and scoring tools that will certainly accomplish the job, but you can probably remove the contact paper with a couple of items already in your home. Heat the contact paper with a hair blow dryer set to the highest heat setting. Hold the blow dryer one inch away from the corner of the contact paper for two minutes. Pull back the corner of the contact paper until you reach the area that was not heated. Heat the next section of paper for two minutes and pull back the paper from the heated area. Repeat this process until you’ve removed all the paper. Do not worry about small bits that stick to the cabinet.
