How Do You Remove Dried Grout From Tile?

0

Grout is a thin mortar used to fill spaces between tiles. Grout is gritty, and hardens when it dries. Once the grout dries onto the tile, it can be tricky to remove. Although it is best to remove grout from tiles while the grout is still wet, it is not impossible to remove after it has dried. Fill a spray bottle with water. Spray the water on the dried grout to moisten it prior to attempting to remove it from the tile. Use a stick made of oak to scrape the grout from the tile. The stick should be about 1/4 inch thick, 1 inch wide, and 6 inches long. Apply pressure while scraping grout from the tile. Spray on more water as necessary, to soften the grout and make it easier to remove. Sweep or vacuum up the clumps of grout that were scraped from the tile. Spray the tile with more water. Use a nylon scouring pad to scrub the tile where the dried grout once was. Add more water as necessary to keep the surface wet. This will remove any haze left by the grout. Rinse the tile with a clean rag
