How do you remove finger nail polish from carpet?

Have you ever spilled finger nail polish on carpet or other fabric? What a disaster! Here’s a way to remove the polish quickly and completely. We discovered this technique when my grandaughter spilled nail polish on her bedroom carpet. I had heard of using paint thinner to remove this type stain, but thinner is so much more harsh than Windex. Remove any excess polish from the carpet with a trowel or other flat object. This will lessen the amount of polish to be disolved and removed. Spray Windex onto the stain and let stand for a minute or two. We used regular Windex and not the all surface brand. Take the towel and blot the stain several times, pressing and holding the towel down until the carpet is almost dry. If necessary, spray more Windex onto the stain and repeat the blotting process. After you’re finished and all the stain appears to be gone, open the carpet fibers with your fingers so you can see deep into the carpet to ensure all the stain is gone. I wear rubber gloves when do
