Fluorescent lights are a long-lasting, durable lighting option that is popular in office buildings, public buildings and even in some homes. Although most fluorescent lights will last for over 20 years, eventually they begin to exhibit problems. When a fluorescent light begins to flicker frequently or fails to come on at all, the problem is most likely caused by a faulty starter. Removing the starter from a fluorescent light is an extremely easy task to perform. Step 1 Place a ladder underneath the fluorescent light and climb onto it to access the light fixture.
