How Do You Remove Glue From Leather Furniture?
Leather is a durable fabric, and when paired with furniture, lasts many years if cleaned properly. Leather needs regular conditioning to keep it from drying out and damaging the surface. When stains occur on leather, treat them right away to avoid permanent scarring. Avoid using stiff-bristled brushes or harsh chemicals on leather as you could damage the material. Apply acetone, or nail polish with acetone, to one end of a cotton swab. Wipe the cotton swab over the glue on the leather furniture. Allow the acetone to work to loosen the glue for five to 10 minutes. Scrape at the glue stain with a butter knife. Do not use a sharp edge on the leather surface. Remove the loosened glue with a damp rag. Apply saddle soap to the leather surface to replenish oils removed by the glue and the acetone. Wipe the saddle soap onto the leather with a damp rag, then remove soap residue with another damp rag. Dry the leather with a clean cloth.
