How Do You Remove Gum On Clothing That Has Been Through The Dryer?
You’ve hauled the pile of laundry from the basket to washer to the dryer to the couch. As you start folding, you discover a sticky, gooey mess. It turns out someone left a stick of gum in his pocket, and you’ve washed and dried it onto the clothes. Is the item ruined? Not necessarily. In a few steps, you can remove the gum and go back to folding that overflowing pile of laundry before it’s time to start again. Pull off as much of the gum as you can. Place the item of clothing in the freezer for an hour or two. If it’s a very small spot, you can rub an ice cube over it. Scrape the gum off with a dull knife, such as a butter knife. Run the spot under warm water to rinse out any remaining gum residue. Scrub the spot with stain remover. Rinse under warm water again, if necessary. Wash in the washing machine with warm water and laundry detergent. Repeat the scrubbing and washing until all residue is removed.
