The clay lifts paint in a way that preserves the clear coat and underlying paint. Wash the paint-splattered area thoroughly with soap and water. Dry the paint-splattered area with a dry, lint-free towel. Rub the detailing clay across the splattered paint area as you would rub or scrub a sponge across the body of the vehicle.
