When not cleaned properly, the smell of urine tends to linger in the room–making the furniture, and the home, an unappealing place. If you are dealing with human urine odors in your home, the key is to attack the stain before the urine has had a chance to set into the fabric. When already dried, the urine odor will take a bit more work to eliminate entirely. Blot the wet urine with paper towels to absorb as much of the liquid as possible. If the urine has already dried into the fabric, don’t despair. It may take a bit more work, but it will be possible to remove the odor. Add 1 tbsp. of mild dish detergent to 2 cups of cool water and sponge the solution onto the urine stain. Blot the area carefully to work the solution into the stain without damaging the fabric.
