How Do You Remove Inserts From Carbon Arrows?
The lightweight nature of carbon arrows makes them ideal candidates for the archer looking to gain an advantage in the field. To gain full advantage of carbon arrows, ensure that each component of the arrow is perfectly set, including the insert that holds the head to the arrow. Hot glue and epoxy are common adhesives used to secure inserts into the end of the carbon arrow. One type of adhesive allows you to remove the insert from the end of the arrow; the other does not. Prepare the torch. Set up the propane torch on a stable surface, and turn on the gas valve of the torch. Place the flint striker in front of the gas nozzle of the torch, and push the striker to light the propane torch. Set the tip of the carbon arrow insert 1/2 inch to the side of the propane torch flame. Do not allow the flame to come into direct contact with the insert or the carbon arrow because this will destroy the end of the carbon arrow.
