How Do You Remove Lacquer Paint From Clothes?
Paint stains, specifically lacquer, can be expensive to dry clean and seem impossible to remove from clothing if you don’t know how to do it. If an inexpensive garment is stained with lacquer paint, it may make more sense to throw it away than spend the money to have it professionally cleaned. If throwing the clothes away is not an option, then with a few inexpensive cleaning products, you can remove lacquer paint stains from them in a few steps. Scrape away as much lacquer from the garment as you can with the edge of a nail file. Be careful not to poke through the cloth of the garment or distress the material. Pull apart a dozen or so large cotton balls and line the bottom of a metal cake pan with the material. Take the cake pan outside and put on a pair of rubber gloves. Lay the garment in the cake pan, atop the cotton balls, and pour a small amount of acetone onto the stain.
