How Do You Remove Latex Paint From Wood Trims?

0

Removing latex paint from wood trim is fairly easy; just a little time, know how, & elbow grease and it’s done. This method works on latex paint on any wood surface. This method is also a great alternative to stripping with harsh chemicals, not to mention CHEAPER! That is always nice. Have fun with your product and be creative! Spray trim with 409 cleaner, scuff up the trim with your stiff brush, wipe trim with your rag. Repeat until all paint has been removed. For hard to reach areas use a stiff toothbrush. For any paint that is in the between the grains of the wood use a toothpick to pry it out. Once all paint has been removed, wet a rag with some paint thinner, and wipe clean the bare wood. You may also want to use a fine grit sandpaper on the trim to smooth any rough edges. Re-prime the trim with a good quality primer before painting with a new fresh coat of paint.
