Linoleum flooring is known for being resistant to scratches and staining. It is easy to clean and requires rather simple installation and maintenance. Another convenience to this method of flooring is that a linoleum sheet can be installed directly over old flooring, such as ceramic tile. When it is time to remove or replace the linoleum, however, the adhesive used to bond it remains on the ceramic subfloor. This glue can be removed by employing a simple process and the proper cleaning materials. Buy a scraper blade and an industrial adhesive remover from a hardware store or home improvement center. This chemical solvent effectively dissolves glues and strong adhesives from most surfaces without damaging them.
