Your favorite black sweater has seen better days. Covered with lint flecks and little nubby pills, you still can’t part with it just yet. And you won’t need to, after following these few steps on how to make a dark colored sweater appear new once again! It may seem like a tedious task, but it you truly love your old sweater, you’ll willingly invest the time and trouble! This method will work on acrylic knits, natural fibers (such as cotton or wool), or any knit blend. First, remove all lint, animal hair, etc. from the sweater using a good lint brush or lint removing ‘sticky roller’. With tiny sewing or manicure scissors, snip each and every little lint ‘pill’ from the entire sweater (well, at least as many as you have the patience for!) Be sure to clip these fuzzy nubs from under the sweater’s armpit, too! Cut just above the knit of the sweater. Take care not to cut off more than the pill itself, you don’t want holes in the garment.
