How Do You Remove Mold & Mildew From A Boat Floor?

0

Boats are naturally exposed to damp conditions. Therefore, it is not unusual for mold and mildew to accumulate on the boat floor, especially in warm climates. Mold and mildew cause an unpleasant odor. The actual surface of the boat floor may be compromised if mold is allowed to grow unchecked. Remove all equipment and accessories from the floor of the boat. Pull out all carpet and mats from the boat floor; discard them. Fill a bucket with 1 part household detergent and 5 parts water. Rub the floor vigorously with a strong-bristle scrub brush dipped repeatedly into the solution. Use a small brush to dislodge mold in crevices and corners. Soak up the soapy water with wadded up newspaper and discard. Scrub the boat floor again with a clean scrub brush and clear water. Work in sections. Wipe up the moisture with a super absorbent cloth. Let the floor dry completely. Spray a section of the boat floor with a marine mildew stain remover. Allow 2 to 3 minutes for the stain remover to activate.
