Mold Removal Methods Step 1 Vacuum the floor with a high-energy efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter attached to the machine. Mold produces airborne spores, which can be dangerous to your health, and a HEPA filter traps nearly all of these spores. Step 2 Create a solution comprised of 1 cup laundry detergent for every gallon of water. Mop the floor with the solution. Allow the floor to dry.
