MSN Messenger, also known as Windows Live Messenger, does not have an option to uninstall it when you add it to your computer. Thankfully, Windows XP has a way to uninstall almost any program from your computer completely. Using the Windows XP way of uninstalling you will safely remove all of the folders, files and information associated with MSN Messenger. If you do want to redownload MSN Messenger in the future, your contacts are saved because those are stored online. Click the “Start” menu at the bottom of the screen. Open “Control Panel.” Click “Add or Remove Programs.” Locate and select MSN Messenger on the list of programs. On some versions it may say “Windows Live Essentials.” Click “Remove” at the top of the window. Confirm the uninstallation. Wait for the program to uninstall completely. An uninstaller will open, and depending on your version of the Messenger you may have to confirm the deletion one more time.
