Whether you’ve acquired your suede chair from someone who smokes or had pets, furniture has a way of retaining smells we don’t want it to. It seems unfair that it’s so quick to pick up undesirable odors and completely forgoes the smells of yummy baked goods and won’t hold onto the pleasant scent of fabric fresheners. Don’t worry, as temperamental as suede can be, there are several remedies to fix your chair’s unfortunate odor. Step 1 Sprinkle baking soda all over the chair and allow it to sit for at least two hours. If you don’t have pets, it may be easiest to do this right before you go to bed and let it sit overnight. In the morning, vacuum the baking soda away. Step 2 Put coffee grounds into old, clean socks and tie up the ends. Use as many socks as you feel necessary, depending on the size of your chair.
