How Do You Remove Paint From Plastic Piping?
Once you have spilled paint or painted PVC or any other variety of plastic piping, it becomes difficult to remove; however, there are options. Most attempts at removing paint from plastic piping will result in a loss of glossiness in appearance. It will adopt a flat-toned appearance. If this is not a concern, then removing the paint is a feasible idea. Wipe off loose dust with a damp rag. Clean off the pipe with the wet green scouring pad and the powdered cleanser. This should take off the bulk of the dirt, so there will be less dirt carving into the plastic as you remove the paint. Soak a small chunk of 000 or 0000 steel wool in acetone and begin cleaning the paint from the plastic. Remove the paint in 1-foot sections. Wipe the acetone off after every foot with a fresh cloth. Replace the steel wool if it becomes clogged with paint. Sand stubborn areas with 100 grit sandpaper.
