How Do You Remove Plastic Wall Anchors?
It’s easier than you think to remove unwanted plastic anchors from your walls. There are two types of plastic anchors, which need different removal techniques: Plastic expansion anchors often come with products like frames and mirrors and are installed into predrilled holes. They work by expanding into drywall. Threaded plastic anchors can be drilled into walls. Their threads grip into the wall material, making them stronger than plastic expansion anchors. Remove the screw partway out of the plastic expansion anchor with a screwdriver. Pull on the screw until the anchor comes out of the wall along with the screw. Wiggling the screw slightly can help remove the anchor, as it enlarges the hole in the wall made by the anchor. Spackle the hole to fill it in. Insert a screwdriver into the anchor head.
