How Do You Remove Rust Stains From Concrete Driveways?

0

Concrete is a common material for many driveways because it is durable and relatively inexpensive. Upkeep of the surface is also rather simple to perform. In some cases, however, the driveway may become stained with oil or rust. In the case of rust stains, oxalic acid is a sure way of removing the stain for good. Learn how to properly apply the acid and completely eliminate the blemish on your driveway. Put on rubber gloves and eye protection. Be sure to wear a long-sleeved shirt and long pants. Mix 1 lb. of oxalic acid with 1 gallon of tap water in a large plastic bucket. Mop the rust stain with the acid mix and allow it to set for two hours. Scrub the acid into the stain vigorously with a stiff-bristled nylon brush. Rinse the acid and rust away with a garden house.
