How Do You Remove Scratches On Mirrors?
Scratches on a glass mirror are annoying and often impossible to get out. But, depending on the scratch, and with a bit of luck, it can be done in some cases. Inspect the mirror carefully and mark all scratches with a dry erase marker. Run your finger nail across the scratch. The more purchase you get, more grab in other words, the less likely that buffing will fully remove the scratch. Squirt a fine spray of water onto the mirror scratch and surrounding area. All you really need is a fine mist coating the glass. Put about a teaspoon of Cerium Oxide Polish on the scratch. Mix the powder with your fingers into a slurry. The texture should be about as thick as a milkshake. Using your buffing item of choice, I prefer the variable speed reversing drill, begin to slowly polish the glass on and around the scratch.
